Become a PGA Member

The PGA Professional Golf Management Program provides world-class training for aspiring golf professionals by offering skill-based training programs that provide state-of-the-art skills and knowledge. Graduates of this program will become outstanding golf professionals who provide exceptional service to their customers, employers, fellow professionals and the game of golf.
In order to become a PGA member, you will need to become a registered apprentice and go through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA/PGM) Program.

In order to register for the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGA/PGM)TM Program you must satisfy the PAT requirement. One of the following must be completed within the two years prior to your registration date:
  • Pass the 36-hole Player's Ability Test or;
  • Attempt the PAT at least once within the two years prior to registering into the PGA PGM Program. Within that time frame, you must shoot one 18-hole score in a PAT that is equal to or less than the PAT target score for 18- holes, plus 5 strokes. How to Sign Up for a PAT

Step 1) Register with the PGA of America by calling 800-474-2776, or online at at least 14 days prior to your preferred test date.

Step 2) After you have registered and paid all fees with PGA Headquarters, tee times and pairings will be emailed to you approximately 10 days prior to your test date by the Section Office as well as posted above. To ensure this information reaches you, please provide PGA Headquarters with your preferred email address.  NCPGA Section Fees are NOT PAYABLE ONSITE as stated on
